The stars are entwined with my eyelashes;
embroidered into the lids that hide the world
from me, when I like.
The last time I felt them
was when we walked at midnight and you kissed
my cheek and told me you did not love me -
and I smiled.
A year flew past me, its feathers fluttering
with soft sighs and fierce embraces. Our lives
were intertwined, sewn together like the stars.
You do not remember breaking my heart, you say.
But I remember you picking up each ragged part
and slowly, carefully, stitching them again.
And I knew that you had lied -
and I smiled.

I like it a lot. You used the image of the stars twice without exhausting it, which was really something. Full of intriguing feelings and images.
